LAURA LINDSEY, LCMHC

LICENSED CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR 

Laura Lindsey (she, her) seeks to empower individuals to uncover new, more effective ways of moving through the world that are in line with their values and goals.  Her highly client centered and empathic approach strives to meet each individual where they are on their own very personal journey towards growth and change, and is built on a foundation that assumes individuals have the potential to understand themselves and are capable of self-directed growth.

 

Laura has experience working with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of mental and behavioral health issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem and identity, navigating life changes and transitions, relationships, addictions, and trauma.  She deeply enjoys working with a diverse population including folks in the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Neurodiverse communities and her approach in rooted in an anti-oppressive lens.

 

Laura integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities in her work including, but not limited to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, parts work, grief work, creative and expressive arts techniques.  In addition, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

 

Laura received a Master of Science degree from Western Carolina University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is licensed through the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist.
